The jam sessions will feature a house band and curated jazz repertoire. Each session will be themed to focus on the music and legacy of a jazz artist; musicians are encouraged to play a tune written by that artist. A different jazz artist will be announced a week ahead of time to give musicians time to learn and explore that artist’s music. We invite musicians of all levels and ages to join each session. Non-performing patrons are also invited to attend and watch each session.

Tai Chi Funk Squad is a four piece band bringing some of the most iconic, and deep dive dance, funk, and rock tunes this side of Motown? Ranging from James Brown, Kool & the Gang, Bruno mars, The Doobie Brothers, and some with some surprise mixups, there's something for all ages to get up and get down to! 

Kim Trusty is a versatile singer-songwriter known for her unique blend of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Gospel, and Soul. She hails from Media, Pennsylvania, and began her journey in music at a young age. Trusty studied songwriting at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she earned the nickname "the girl with the golden voice".

Over the past three decades, she has resided in Providence, Rhode Island, refining her musical style and performing extensively. In addition to her musical career, Trusty has a passion for education, having worked with children from diverse backgrounds and helping to establish the Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts in Providence. Her performances are characterized by heartfelt storytelling and vocal improvisation, drawing on her life experiences

Miss Wensday is a talented musician with a passion for teaching. With over 20 years of experience as a theatre and voice educator Miss Wensday has helped countless students achieve their creative goals.

For the past 25years, Richie Rich & 24Karat Funk have been delivering their R&B & funk style of music in and around the New England area and in Europe.  They have performed at Saratoga Springs Casino, Foxwoods Casino, Mohegan Sun Casino, Plainridge Casino, Weddings, private parties, and Clubs.  We not only play 70's, 80's & current music, we perform the songs.  The stage is lit up with two dynamic singers and a 6 or 7 piece band.  They will keep you on your feet all night long, we promise.

Shawnn Monteiro | Premier Jazz Vocalist

Shawnn Monteiro is an acclaimed jazz vocalist known for her captivating style, soulful phrasing, and blues-infused improvisations. She has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, sharing the stage with jazz legends including Clark Terry, Lionel Hampton, Ray Brown, Benny Golson, Stanley Jordan, and many others.

The daughter of renowned Duke Ellington bassist Jimmy Woode and goddaughter of jazz great Clark Terry, Shawnn’s musical roots run deep. Early in her career, she toured with legendary percussionist Mongo Santamaria, performing alongside Celia Cruz, the Fania All-Stars, and Weather Report.

In addition to performing, Shawnn is a respected jazz educator who has taught at Rhode Island College and the Hartt School of Music. Since 1995, she has taught an annual Master Vocal Class in Italy, and most recently taught a master class at Berklee College of Music.

Mike Rollins, saxophonist, recording artist, out of Providence, RI. brings excitement & passion to the art of music. Born in raised in Indiana, his deep gospel roots shaped his unique sound. Since the inception of his career, Mike has produced shows, and shared the stage with a host of notable acts in the jazz & R&B world. Kenny Lattimore, Lenny Kravitz, Musiq Soulchild, Carl Thomas, Flo Rida, Jon B, Cece Penniston, Al B. Sure, Lisa Fisher, Damien Escobar, Gerald Albright, Mike Phillips and the list goes on. His single “Debonair” is currently on all streaming platforms.

GRAMMY Award-winning bassist and composer Linda May Han Oh is one of today’s most acclaimed voices in jazz. She has performed with legendary artists including Pat Metheny, Kenny Barron, Joe Lovano, Terri Lyne Carrington, Vijay Iyer, and Geri Allen.

A Guggenheim Fellow and eight-time Jazz Journalists Association “Bassist of the Year,” Linda has released eight critically acclaimed albums as a bandleader and performed at renowned venues around the world, including the Village Vanguard and NPR’s Tiny Desk.

She is currently an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music and was featured on bass in Pixar’s Soul, where she also served as the model for bassist character “Miho.”
