Bios:

Leland Baker – jazz saxophonist, music educator, and leading his own project/lecture series (Bridging Gaps). He’s lived and honed his craft in the great cities of New Orleans and New York City. While in NYC, Leland  performed and studied with many brilliant artists, including Lawrence Clark, Kahlil Bell, Tim Green, and Roy Hargrove.

Leland earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA, where he studied with world acclaimed saxophonists: Tony Dagradi, John Ellis and George Garzone. Later he earned a Master’s Degree in Music Performance at University of Rhode Island. Leland continues to perform, record, and teach throughout New England and NYC…including Sunday Jazz at the 2024 Newport Jazz Festival and organizing Jazz Jams at The Blue Room.

Noah Campbell – a tenor and soprano saxophonist from Richmond, Virginia, now based in Providence, RI.  Campbell aims to reflect the tradition and future of jazz, Black American Music, and improvised music in his playing.

In addition to music, Campbell is a PhD Candidate in Political Theory where he works at the intersection of Black freedoms, identity formation, and agency.

Anton Deveryanko – born in St. Petersburg to a Russian mother and Ukrainian father, he started playing piano at the age of three with his grandmother as his first teacher. Derevyanko first picked up the saxophone in grade school and quickly found himself obsessed.

His obsession carried him through Berklee College of Music where he earned his Bachelors and Masters in Global Jazz Studies, while performing nationally and internationally throughout the last decade. Music is about much more than just the saxophone for Derevyanko — it has given him a platform and vehicle to give back to causes and communities he finds meaningful, both abroad and at home.
