BIOS:
Ida Zecco (actor/singer/comedian/director/producer/coach/educator) is a retired member of both Actors’ Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild. A native Rhode Islander, Ida earned her Bachelors of Music in voice at the Mozarteum University, Salzburg, Austria, and completed a Masters in Music Therapy at the Orff Institute, Salzburg, Austria. She later acquired a Masters in Fine Arts in acting and directing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), London, England and studied acting in New York City.

Over the last 30 years, Ida has been appearing in several, one-woman performances in theaters across the U.S., that she has written and created, accompanied by her Musical Director, Jim Rice. Her performances combine music, theater and stand-up comedy. Her unique storytelling offers down-home humor with heart-felt narrative. Her last two productions, “Estro-Gin & Tonic” and “Thanks for the Mammaries” have been performed to sold-out audiences across North America.

Ida is a recipient of Best Female Vocalist Award by Independence Reviewers of New England (IRNE)

Ms. Zecco’s first , successful CD, “A Song for Christmas” was followed by a second CD release, “Better to Have Loved.” which received international acclaim from Cadence Magazine, Cabaret Scenes Magazine, InTune Magazine International and New England Entertainment Digest (NEED).

Ida is the producer of a monthly Cabaret Series at The Arctic Playhouse (TAP), West Warwick, RI, in The Cabaret Club along with Jim Rice as the house Music Director/Accompanist. This series is proud to have sold out crowds every month with national and international recording arts from across the country and Europe.

Jim Rice, of New York City,  Boston, and Worcester MA, is an accomplished and diverse conductor, music director, arranger, pianist and singer. Abroad, Jim has been Conductor of the European tour of Ken Hill’s Phantom of the Opera and nationally, Always Patsy Cline. He has been the Assistant Conductor for the international tour of Man of La Mancha and Camelot as well as the pianist for the Broadway production of Grease in Europe. Jim has performed in hundreds of theaters and concert halls throughout Europe and the United States.

He has worked with Tony award winners and accompanied many accomplished Broadway and international singing sensations including Marilyn Mae, Billy Stritch, Rita Mareno, Lucy Arnaz, Liz Callaway, Anne Hampton Callaway, Randy Roberts and The Broadway Tenors: Brent Barrett, Alan Campbell, David Burnham, John Cudia, Jeff Kready, Kyle Dean Massey.

Mr. Rice has been the creator, arranger and music director for a number of tribute shows including the IRNE award winning Primavera: The Music of Louie Prima & Keely Smith starring Jim Porcella and Ida Zecco as well as Dear Miss Garland starring Boston’s Kathy St. George. His brand-new project he is currently touring is A Tribute to Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme which features himself as a singer/pianist alongside his longtime musical colleague Valerie Sneade-Roy.

His one-man singer/pianist shows have been performed at The Arctic Playhouse’s Cabaret Club (where he is currently the resident music director) in West Warwick, RI as well as The Red Barn in Key West, Florida. Jim regularly contributes orchestrations for Female Impersonator Extraordinaire Mr. Randy Roberts including those for his appearance on America’s Got talent.

He has played and accompanied and musically directed artists at Scullers Jazz Club, Ryles, Regattabar, Club Café, and Mechanics Hall; in NYC at The Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama’s, The Duplex, Danny’s Skylight Room; in PA at the Cosmopolitan Room; in Ogunquit, ME he spent three seasons with Michael Holmes at The Front Porch and a variety of venues across Provincetown.

His arrangements have been described as “marvelous” and “sophisticated and richly crafted”. His orchestrations have been performed by many orchestras including The Key West Pops (FL), The Festival of the Atlantic (NJ), Thayer Symphony (MA), The Charlotte Symphony (FL), Las Vegas Philharmonic (CA) The Hartford Symphony (CT) Plymouth Symphony (MA)  the Albany Symphony (NY) and many others.
